EFW - Season 3.

I remember a hike to Garibaldi lake a couple summers ago with my good friend Myriam Laroche, the founder and president of Vancouver Eco Fashion Week. Half way up the hike she mentioned to me that she had this vision of Vancouver becoming the center of sustainable fashion. She told me that she wanted to create a top quality, twice a year (spring-fall season) fashion event, that would go beyond just showcasing clothes on a runway, but which would also include seminars on sustainability and other relevant issues. And most importantly…help change the public perception about Eco/sustainable fashion, and show that it didn’t automatically equate to dreadlocks and granola bars.

Okay, I knew Myriam was a driven and energetic woman, but even for her, it seemed pretty ambitious…

But lo and behold. Two years later her and her great team just wrapped up the 3rd season and yet again, another immensely successful EFW event. And from the looks of it, it is not looking like they are about to slow down. Yup…that Myriam is a force to be reckoned with…
